Dianah Kamande is an ardent and devoted advocate in Gender violence, Anti FGM and sensitization on these issues. She leads Come Together Widows and Orphans Organization (CTWOO) which focuses on widows, orphans and survivors of Gender Based Violence.

 She started drafting a widows’ Bill to protect widows and their children from harmful traditional practices and to provide for their rights distinctly. Since 2016, the bill has been strengthened together with the Government’s help.

Dianah has been forefront in fighting harmful cultural practices like FGM, child marriage and widow inheritance. She has helped over 1.4. million widows and ensured 50 orphans have been taken to school. Moreover, through partnership with other organizations like Loss and Grief program and Economic Empowerment, she’s able to advocate for widows’ rights.

Remarkably, she inspires Women through socio-economic empowerment like We Fund, Thamini Mjane (where women borrow and repay in 15 months) Initiatives to bring  a cohesive community. She has also taken a responsibility in mentoring, coaching, and guiding women with life skills ; she has established a tailoring training .
