Lucy Chepkochei is fervent in developments and applications in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing, Data Analytics, Trainer and Researcher.  She is currently pursuing a PhD research in Geospatial Engineering at the University of Nairobi

She is the Capacity Development Lead at Regional Center for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD). Lucy has worked in Kenyan government, private sector and NGOs like ; United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA)where she created Iraq Covid-19’s database and infographics; International Committee of the Red Cross – ICRC GIS by mapping humanitarian activities and spatial applications towards helping people affected by conflict and armed violence in Somalia ; Ministry of Devolution and Planning – Directorate of Arid and Semi-Arid Lands where she successfully established a functional complete Government Directorate’s GIS-Remote Sensing Unit Train the government staff amongst others.

She is a champion of diversity and inclusivity by emphasizing in capacity building for girls and women in the field as a new frontier. She is also a member in mentoring budding women in the geospatial field.
