Absa Bank Kenya Plc, formerly Barclays Bank Kenya Limited, is a commercial bank in Kenya with presence in 38 counties in Kenya, 84 branches, 217 ATMs and a robust Internet and Mobile banking platform.

As a financial service institution, they are keen and deliberate to giving competent women an opportunity to serve and contribute to the growth and strategy of the bank. Currently, 49 % of Colleagues in Absa are women and 38% of them are in senior leadership. In addition, 3 ladies out of 4 sit at the Absa Bancassurance Intermediary Limited Board as well as Absa bank Securities Limited board which translates to 75% representation of women. The bank has also held several mentorship and coaching sessions for women Colleagues to prepare them for senior leadership positions. In Feb 2020, Absa launched a Ksh10 billion kitty to offer credit facilities to women entrepreneurs for the next 5 years . Through Wezesha Biashara campaign, they have trained women entrepreneurs on financial management and business professionalism.  In 2016, they partnered with International Trade Centre (ITC) to launch SheTradesKe in Kenya to connect 10,000 women to international trade opportunities in the next 5 years – 3,200 women benefitted as at 2019.
