Safaricom PLC is a Kenyan mobile network operator. With a track in all 47 counties, they’ve partnered with Kenyan communities and institutions to boost and reshape lives through various initiatives like M-Pesa Foundation and Safaricom Foundation. Over the years, they have invested heavily in Education, Health, Economic Empowerment, Environmental Conversation, Water, and Disaster Response interventions.

Safaricom PLC blends in a gender approach in the preparation, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of policies. In their commitment to achieve gender parity among senior management by 2025 , they’ve  maintained an overall workforce of 51% female, 49% male and have increased women among senior management by 1% to 35%.
Additionally ,they’ve taken on the  HE4SHE as a propel for female empowerment and building capacity through networking forums, subject talks, training, career development, coaching and mentorship. Through Programmes like the Safaricom Women in Leadership programme and Women in Technology (WIT) ,Safaricom has been able to creating an opportunity for girls and women in technology to untap their talent and innovative ideas and grow the number of women-owned businesses .
